Make Friends

We just want to cut to the chase. NewSpring is a big church. There are a ton of people every weekend. So, we want to give you a few tips on how to make friends and get plugged in.

  1. Be friendly! We know this seems like an obvious one, but don't wait for someone to greet you. Chances are pretty high that they are newer than you are, so make them feel at home. Say howdy to someone you don't know and then ask a few questions. Bet the conversation takes off. And you never know what you'll find out.
  2. Come just a hair early. If you always slip in after the service has started, you don't really have much of a chance to meet anyone. Once we crank up the music, it's tough to carry on a meaningful conversation.
  3. Hang out afterwards. There's a good chance that if you don't rush out right after the service, you'll meet some interesting people. Plus, you won't get caught in the stampede trying to get out of the parking lot.
  4. Volunteer. This is a HUGE one! There is no better way to get to know someone than to serve beside them. Of course, steps 1-3 apply when you're serving as well. Go check out the volunteer opportunities.
  5. Get in a group. We saved the best for last, because, there is no better way to get to know friends deeply than in a Connection Group. Go sign up right now. Or, if you're not ready for that kind of commitment, try NewSpring Connect.
